Software for nursing homes and hospitals
Electronic patient records, medication rounds and stock management for elderly care homes, clinics and labs that run on paper or on an old program.

What you get
I build custom software for nursing homes and elderly care units, for clinics, and for hospital departments and labs that still run on paper or on an old program.
Once it is in, every dose is recorded once, with a time and a name. Whatever is expiring or overdue, from a medicine on the shelf to a care plan review, comes up on its own instead of waiting for someone to remember it. Every member of staff sees what their role allows.
What it can include, with examples from what I have already built:
- An electronic patient or resident record, from clinical notes to administration, with allergies, resuscitation wishes and risks always above every tab.
- Medication rounds by the hour, with doses created from the doctor’s orders. A pending dose turns overdue after 30 minutes. High-alert medicines ask for a second checker or a written reason, and anything not given goes to the doctor’s list.
- Diagnoses in Greek: search in Greek across 27,015 ICD-10 codes, 10,259 of them with Greek descriptions.
- Care plans that do not slip: reviews, risk reassessments (Braden, MMSE, Barthel) and expiring staff documents arrive as notifications.
- Stock management: every item with a quantity, a location and an expiry date, counted with a barcode scanner or on an Android phone that works without Wi-Fi.
- Roles and an audit log: each role with its own permissions, and an action log with an automatic integrity check.
- Jobs that run on their own: from the backups to the audit-log integrity check. The new release of the Zosimades platform, which is ready to install, has 41, including three shift hand-over briefings.
Where you can see it
- Zosimades Nursing Home of Ioannina: three systems in daily use. The clinical platform covers 14 domains today, from admission to discharge, and 21 in the new release. Alongside it run the inventory system and a stocktaking app on a phone. The screenshots there show the new release, with invented residents and staff.
- A lab at Ioannina University Hospital: a stock management program for reagents and equipment, in place of an old C# WinForms program. The hospital’s IT department installs it from a single 3.9 MB file.
- Migraine Tracker: a mobile app, not launched yet, that exports to FHIR 4.0.1, the standard hospital systems speak. Relevant if your data has to reach another health system.
Both institutions are in Ioannina, where I am based. I also take on work from the rest of Greece, remotely.
How we work
- We talk about how you work today. Write to me, call, message me on Viber or WhatsApp, or book a call. You will hear back from me, not from a subcontractor, within 1-2 working days.
- I send you a written proposal with the scope and the timeline.
- I build it with you seeing the progress, with automated checks. The new release of the Zosimades clinical platform has 342 test files, and every role’s permissions are checked on every change.
- Installation on site. The system can run on a computer inside your building, with no public web address. At the Zosimades Nursing Home, the new release was rehearsed first on a copy of the home’s data, and the new deploy process rolls back to the previous version on its own if the new one fails its check after installation.
- I stay available afterwards. If you want, I keep looking after it. I still maintain the Zosimades systems.
What you own
Software you own, built to last. The code is yours, with no per-user subscription. As for the data, this is how it works at the two institutions:
- The data stays in the building. At the nursing home the systems run on a computer on site. At the lab the data lives in a file on the lab’s own computer, and nothing is sent outside.
- Records leave in files anyone can open. The lab’s reports export to Excel with one button, and at the nursing home each resident’s profile sheet and medical history export to PDF.
- Backups happen on their own. At the nursing home they are one of the scheduled jobs. At the lab they run every four hours by default, plus one more before any restore.
Frequently asked questions
We have no IT department. Can this work?
Yes. Neither does the Zosimades Nursing Home. Its systems run on one computer in the building, and the home’s browsers open them without security warnings.
What happens if the network goes down?
The hospital lab’s program talks to no server, so the stock room carries on as normal. The Zosimades stocktaking app writes to the phone and sends once the connection is back.
Who can see patient data?
Whoever has a role that allows it. At the Zosimades Nursing Home, administrators, doctors and nurses must sign in with a second, one-time code (TOTP), and the new release brings 13 roles. Every uploaded file keeps a fingerprint, so tampering can be detected.
Can we start with just the store room?
Yes. At the Zosimades Nursing Home inventory is a separate system from the clinical platform, because different staff use it. The hospital lab’s program does stock and nothing else, in five screens.
